John AndersonAssistant Band DirectorJohn Anderson is beginning his 14th year of teaching and 1st year at Alvin High school. While studying music at the University of Texas at Arlington, Mr. Anderson was a member of the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, the Maverick marching band, principal chair of the Symphony Orchestra, and several concert bands. During his summers, he marched 5 years on tuba with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, serving as section leader from 2006-2008.
Following graduation with a Bachelor’s in Music, Mr. Anderson served as a music educator in Victoria, Galena Park, Santa Fe, and Houston school districts. During his time teaching, he has directed superior rated marching bands and concert bands, a TCGC championship winterguard, as well as the Pearland Community Band. He also served on visual staff for Revolution, Genesis, and Guardians Drum & Bugle Corps. Mr. Anderson met his wife, Kat, in college and the two married in 2019. They live in Pearland with their four daughters: Kayly Madison, Zoey Clara, Lucy Caroline, and Melody Kristine. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, video gaming, traveling, dad jokes, and disc golfing. Mr. Anderson’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmaster’s Association, Kappa Kappa Psi. |
