Jeremy KitchensDirector of BandsMy name is Jeremy Kitchens, and I am honored to be the new Director of Bands for Alvin High School. I am excited for the opportunity to continue teaching in a community where I already have many great relationships with so many of you!
For those that don’t know me, I have been a band director at Fairview Junior High for eight years, with the last five of those as the head director. I feel blessed to be able to continue with those of you from Fairview, and equally so to be able to work with the multitudes of students/parents that come from Alvin Junior High, Harby Junior High, and beyond! I grew up in southeast Texas, where I began my band journey all the way back in junior high as a tuba player. When I got to high school, and adjusted to the crushing weight of the sousaphone, I quickly grew to love marching band. Once I decided to pursue a music degree in college, I knew that I wanted to eventually become a director of a high school band. Once I graduated college, I moved to this area for my first job at Fairview in 2015. I currently live in the area with my amazing wife, Courtney, and our dog, Vanna.
