Jasmine MontemayorAssistant Band DirectorJasmine Montemayor is from Pasadena, Texas where she attended Pasadena High School and is a recent graduate of Texas A&M University - Kingsville, earning a Bachelors in Music Education and a minor in Communications in December 2022, studying with James Warth and Thomas Zinniger.
During her time at TAMUK, Ms. M was a member of the Concert bands, University bands, Jazz bands, South Texas Saxophone Orchestra (STSO), and The Pride of South Texas Marching Band. Prior to joining the Alvin High School staff, Ms. M has taught private lessons in Channelview ISD in spring of 2023 after graduating. In addition, Ms. M served as a Marching Technician with Pasadena High School in fall of 2017 & fall of 2018. She completed her student teaching in Tuloso-Midway ISD at Tuloso-Midway Intermediate, Middle, and High School under the mentorship of April Hoelscher, Antonio De La Rosa, and Ralph Morales. Outside of teaching, Ms. M enjoys time with her family, playing video games, and watching her favorite shows on Netflix. Professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity. She is excited to begin her first year of teaching at Alvin High School this school year! |
