Casey WatsonDirector of BandsCasey L. Watson was named the Director of Bands at Alvin High School in the summer of 2025. His responsibilities include providing oversight of all AHS Band activities, conductor of the Wind Ensemble, and the feeder cluster leader of the Alvin, Harby and Fairview JH bands.
In his career as a band director Mr. Watson has held various positions over the last 15 years in the Katy, Spring Branch, Galena Park and Aldine ISDs. Most notably during his time at Galena Park HS the program tripled in size, created multiple region and all state musicians, and achieved great success in the marching program. The program was a consistent finalist at all marching contests and in 2019 was the alternate band to the State Marching Championships. Mr. Watson’s ensembles are consistent sweepstakes winners at UIL contests and he has earned sweepstakes awards with ensembles at all levels. Mr. Watson is a UIL adjudicator and clinician in the Houston area. Mr. Watson is an honor graduate of the University of North Texas’ College of Music. While at North Texas he held many leadership positions including VP of the NTSME, President of the Mu Phi Epsilon Phi Tau Chapter and the Green Brigade Marching Band Leadership Team. Mr. Watson comes from a long line of highly successful music programs as a student at Bedford Junior High and L.D. Bell High School where he was afforded the opportunity to perform at BOA Grand National Finals twice. During the summer of 2004 Mr. Watson participated in Drum Corps International performing with the Madison Scouts. In his free time Mr. Watson is a physically active person and participates in various running events and is currently working to become a NASM Certified Trainer. Mr. Watson resides in the Houston Heights, enjoys going to Astros games, Buffalo Bayou Park and the hard task of being a Dallas Cowboys and Mavericks fan in Houston.
